Sorry, read too fast. I wouldn't move the page back, necessarily. You can, but I don't see it as a required step.

Suppose you want to move all content on all right hand pages half an inch to the left. Select all right pages and with the Page Tool move them half an inch to the right without moving the objects.
By @Peter Spier
Right ... so the first step would be to select all right pages, untick "move objects", move pages, tick "move objects back", move pages back?
By @Robert at ID-Tasker
That would be my interpretation. I'm not saying this is a good solution, just a possible scenario.

@Laubender I think you may have misinterpreted the originial intent of the question. My understanding is that any movement should be restricted to lef-right, no up-down, and only to great a gap to accomodate inside bleed.
But maybe I'm not understanding what you've suggested

Well, Robert, one could use the Page Tool to move all objects on all selected pages in one go; document wide.
By @Laubender
I'm sorry, but I don't understand what do you mean?? You can't move objects - using Page Tool?

I think the point is to move the page first, then add the objects. In the test file I've added some objects on the A Parent page and on the document page then added new pages and done some shuffling, and the objects have always remained where they belong, and the parent objects have swapped as expected.
What was unexpected was when I deleted a page, and moved one over to make a two-page spread again I lost the gap.

@Robert at ID-Tasker Are you sure contents don't move with the page?
In the sample file the Parent Page objects are correctly aligned...

I understand that. I was referring to your page 1 using the left half of your two-page Parent rather than the right.
This would be a problem if you had, say, headers or footers oriented relative to the spine which you acknowledge above.
As for how you set up the spread gap?

@rob day that's an interesting file, but Page 1 seems to be a left instead of a right.
Also, not sure how you set up the divided spread master. Did you use the Page Toll to separate them?

Since these are (probably) pixel-based files, why not save-as TIFF. Remember to set the Mode to Bitmap.
By @Mike Witherell
Myt recollection is that Grayscale is also acceptable (and will give a range of tints of the color), but the file must be non-transparent.
Both TIFF and JPEG should work.
If you don't don't have Photoshop (and unless you have a single app subscription there's no reason you couldn't install it) you could try opening the the files in your OS pixel viewer (Paint, in Windows) and resaving from there.

Windows won't reubuild the font cache unless you restart.
What's the big deal about doing a re-boot? Is the few minutes it migh take more of a problem than dealing with your font issues?

Sounds like you've specified an inside bleed, whci on a facing pages file is normally the edge of the opposite page at the gutter. You can split apart a facing spread by deselecting Allow Selected Spread to Shuggle in the Pages Panel menu and dragging one page away from its parner until you see a vertical line.
You can also do this for the entire document if you need to using a script (one of which can be downloaded from https://gilbertconsulting.com/scripts/indesign/separate_spreads.zip).
You might also find some useful information at https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/script-for-splitting-spreads-for-bleed-or-other-technique/td-p/12735345

Crop marks are also not included in the default settings and must be set by you, if you want them. If you do, you should change the offset value to be at least as much as the bleed so they fall outside the bleed area.

The display perfoprmance dialog you show us has nothing to do with whter the blled is included in the PDF. That's set in the Export options, and it is not included by default. Did you include a bleed allowance when you exported the book?

Before you reinstall, which probably won't help, try doing a manual caches clearance (you'll find directions on the Reset InDesign Preferences and Other Troubleshooting page) and disable any third-party plugins you have installed in InDesign, and also try running in Safe Mode if that is also unsuccessful.
Safe mode will confirm if it's a software conflict, which would be the next most likely problem, and running in a new user would diagnose a user-specific condition.

Actually there is one more option, but it's to use a paid file recovery service, Bad InDesign or Quark File Recovery Submission Form but it is not guaranteed and is not inexpensive, so only viable for files that would be extremely costly to rebuild.

When none of the suggested procedures works it's pretty much the end of the road for that file and your only choices are to open a backed up previous version (which is why it is important to do a save AS with a new name periodically -- I do this at the beginning of every editing session), or start over if you have no previous version.

I would modify the Footnote style a bit.
Instead of the paragraph break followed by the tab, I would use a left indent for the paragraph, and a negative first line indent to move the footnot number over, then use soft returns (forced line break) to move dow to the next level. This makes each footnote a single paragraph.

In my opinion, and others may disagree, your color settings should be set to the correct output profiles (and I'm fairly sure SWOP Coated is not correct in this case), and that color management settings should be set to Preserve Embedded Profiles, though Convert to Working Space is probably also acceptable. Off is a poor choice.
All of that said, if you've already convereted from RGB to CMYK you will never get your original vibrant RGB colors back -- all CMYK spaces have a smaller gamut than RGB and are all device-dependent, which is to say they do the best job they can of converting your colors to the specific device they are designed for, but going from one CMYK profile to another cannot restore information already lost.
In any case, in Photoshop set your Photoshop View > Proof Setup to the output profile that matches your print conditions and use View > Proof Colors to see what you can expect in print, and this will be far more accurate if you use a calibrated monitor. If your monitor is not calibrated there's actually a good possibility that it's been showing you brighter colors than actually exist from the very start.

You mentioned you converted the images to CMYK using SWOP for the profile, but WHICH SWOP?
Using the coated perofile could easily result in some fading on uncoated paper (and cheap uncoated paper is going to give less than stellar color no matter what because the ink soaks in instead of sitting on the surface, which is why they want such a low ink coverage).

As @leo.r says, but you also need to understand that opeing a .idml file in an older version may not show exactly the same things you see.
First, any features in the version you use tht are not supported inthe older version will be lost, and second, differences in the text engines between versions can cause the text to reflow, and this may not happen until a sory is touched in some way. This text reflow can also hapopen when opeing a file in a newer version than the obne in which it was saved, so if that's important the file must be checked carefully.
If at all possible it is always best to share files in the same version.

Actually, it's highly likely that the font doesn't have the glyph and Word is doing a behind the scenes silent font substitution which InDesign is not seeing.
